BIO

Steve is one of the founding partners of TLGGR.  He began his legal career at Hart & Hume, LLP and then at its successor firm Stockman Wallach Lentz & Gamell, LLP.  His practice is concentrated in the field of commercial litigation with a focus on the areas of surety, construction, contract, insurance defense, fidelity and bankruptcy.  Clients have called upon his experience as a litigator when they have complicated problems that require pragmatic solutions.  He is a problem solver and enjoys working hand in hand with clients seeking successful resolutions even when a positive outcome may appear out of reach.

Steve advises and represents surety insurers on all aspects of performance and payment bond claims, affirmative claims against owners & agents, guardianship & probate bonds, salvage & indemnity recovery, bankruptcy, and miscellaneous bonds, including  tax preparers’ professional liability policies.  He also advises and represents contractors in construction related disputes on both private and public projects.   Steve has successfully mediated, arbitrated and litigated matters in state and federal courts throughout New York.

Steve is a current Vice-Chair of the ABA/TIPS Fidelity & Surety Law Committee and has delivered papers and addresses at industry events throughout the years.  He was a co-editor of The Surety and Bankruptcy, First Edition in 2010 and contributed other chapters and articles to industry publications.
